The Launching of Dataran Amanjaya Pekan Sauk, Kuala Kangsar

Kuala Kangsar, December 3, 2015: PKNP Group is a state government agency who is obliged to lead the development of rural area through the Redevelopment of Small Town programme across the state. The transformation is essential to facilitate the citizens in order to be a commercial centre in the countryside which would spur the economy and being well-known as “Community Centre”.
According to Chief Executive of PKNP Group, Dato’ Aminuddin Bin Md. Desa, Sauk is one of the town which has been involved in the redevelopment of small towns in Perak. PKNP Group targetted a total of 41 small towns in five years from the year of 2014 until 2018; a concept of Village Shop, Village Kiosk and a square which will integrate the commercial centre and facilities for the people to create a condusive environment to the competitive business and dealers and also among local residents in fulfilling their needs.Thus far, three areas of small town were built, which are Trong, comprising of 5 units of village shop, Ijok, comprising of 7 units of village shop and Sauk, comprising of 12 units of village shop, 6 units of village kiosk and a square; 10 units are still in progress and one unit is just began.

Other Small towns which are currently under construction are in Lekir, Manong, Kubu Gajah, Gunung Semanggol, Bagan Datoh, Simpang Lima, Lawin, Kampung Slim, Changkat Jong, Bandariang dan Batu Masjid Temoh.

YAB Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir says “By 2016, we estimated 15 small towns will be developed such as in Matang, Bukit Gantang, Titi Serong, Sungai Lesong, Tanjung Blaja, Kampung Plang, Changkat Lobak, Sungai Kerang, Kuala Kurau, Batu 16 Hutan Melintang, Padang Changkat,Pengkalan Baharu Manjung, Kuak, Bukit Bertam Selama dan Sungai Manik. This is in line with the aim to boost the local economic development that will change the landscape of small towns to be more modern, neat and organized”.
YAB Chief Minister of Perak also witnessed the hand over of Dataran Amanjaya Pekan Sauk from PKNP Group to Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council and the key hand over to the tenants of the stall. 
In conjunction with the ceremony, Forum Perdana entitled ‘Pembangunan Terjaga, Ummah Sejahtera’ was held at the Dataran Amanjaya Sauk a night before. Speakers involved are PU Yeop, Puan Hajjah Sharifah Khasif Fadzilah and Ustaz Ahmad Munawir.
