The Rise of Bagan Datoh in Industrial Hub

January 18, 2016 – PKNP Group organized a site visit on Detailed Environment Impact Analysis (DEIA) Study at the proposed development of Perak Heavy Industrial Park (PHIP) in Rungkup, Bagan Datoh, Perak. 


The site visit involved a few representatives from Department of Environment (DOE) from Putrajaya and Perak, consultants from Dr. Nik & Associates Sdn. Bhd., PKNP Group staff, representatives from; PECOH Industrial Development Sdn. Bhd., Federal Territories Director of Lands and Mines Office of Perak, Perak State Economic Planning Unit and also Perak Town and Country Planning Department.


The visit began from Bagan Datoh jetty on a boat ride down the coastline of Bagan Datoh. PECOH and PKNP Group have planned to develop a 3,400 acres of Mild Steel Perak Heavy Industry. During the boat ride, consultants from Dr. Nik & Associates Sdn. Bhd. briefed on the overall development plan of PHIP. The journey stopped at Hutan Melintang Port, located near Sungai Bernam. The site visit continued through a journey on road by a van heading to the area of Bagan Sungai Belukang, Bagan Sungai Tiang southward and ended in Bagan Sungai Tiang northward. 


The programme ended with a discussion between the panels of DEIA study for PHIP Project in Wisma UMNO Bagan Datoh. Also present during the programme were Deputy Head Director (Operation) Department of Environment, Putrajaya, Encik Mokhtar Abdul Majid, Chairman of PECOH Industrial Development Sdn. Bhd., Dato’ Wan Mohamed Yaacob and Director of Federal Territories Director of Lands and Mines Office, Perak State, Dato’ Syed Mokhtar Syed Iddris.
