Ipoh, February 28, 2016 – With 80% completion and just months away from its target opening, Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) recently launched its ticket sales in a fun-filled ‘My Dream Carnival’ which attracted over 20,000 people in a 2-day event at the park’s main entrance.

Jointly organised by MAPS and Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak (PKNP), the event was officiated by YB Datuk Mohd Zahir (Perak State Exco & Chairman for Industry, Investment and Development Corridor), representing YAB Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry bin Abd. Kadir, Menteri Besar Perak.

Presenting a sneak preview of an exciting line-up of activities leading to the opening of MAPS, My Dream Carnival showcased well-known animation movie characters such as The Smurfs, BoBoiBoy, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, Megamind & Metroman including the thrilling Stunt Legends stunt performance. The ‘Hacker’ stunt car was also a big hit with many people posing and taking selfies next to it.

Darren McLean, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MAPS said, “We are very close to the official opening now. The MAPS team is all geared up to present Asia’s First Animation Theme Park to fans from near and far! It has been our pride and joy in developing a mega project to be Perak’s next iconic destination.”

Perak has achieved the highest number of domestic travels in 2012-2014, three years consecutively. With the opening of MAPS, the theme park hopes to increase visitor arrivals leading to Visit Perak 2017.

“This is part of our on-going commitment to transform Meru Raya into a global attraction, improving the socio-economic environment by providing business opportunities and human capital development for local talents. Local and foreign tourists will definitely be looking forward for the opening of MAPS. PKNP Group hopes that MAPS will make Ipoh City more vibrant and will boost potential tourism development in Bandar Meru Raya. We are confident that with the coming opening of MAPS, it will be an engaging experience for families.” said Dato’ Aminuddin Bin Md Desa, Chairman of MAPS and Chief Executive of PKNP Group.

Syamsyila Md Ghazali from Perak said, “We are so excited to be among the first to experience MAPS as soon as it opens, I have bought a total of sixteen tickets for my whole family. It’s certainly a thoughtful gesture to extend this special offer to Perakians!”
