Perak Champions in National Convention PROTUNe 2015

March 13, 2016 - Perak was selected for the second time to host in the National Convention Program Tunas Niaga (PROTUNe) 2015. The closing ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan, Perak State Executive Councillor. Also present was Tuan Sayed Shariffuddin Bin Sayed Shamshuddin, Deputy Chief Executive (Corporate Service) PKNP Group.


PROTUNe is a platform for student to learn how to cultivate entrepreneur culture. Each school, which participates in the Entrepreneurial Culture Programme will take part in the competition. They have to establish a simulation company to run their business for a period of 10 months under supervision of their teachers. This programme is for secondary school involving students from form one to form five.


The objective of PROTUNe programme is to give an exposure and enhance entrepreneurship values among the students. Besides, this programme can improve their knowledge and skills to implement a business effectively and learn how to manage a company.


A total of 600 students from 78 schools participated in the convention. About 170 teachers were involved as supervisors.  The highlight of the event was the grand prize award valued RM1500, trophy and certificate of participation with accompanying gifts for the champion. A team consisted of 6 schools from Perak state was named the overall champion of the competition.  Meanwhile team from Pahang was the runner up, followed by the team from Malacca.
