March 1, 2017 - The blood donation campaign was organized by the Welfare Bureau Kelab Warga PKNP Group in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, Ipoh. This year a record total of 155 donors took part compared to last year which was only 95. The objective of the blood donation campaign was is to help the hospital to obtain blood tube stocks for patients who are in need.

The programme started from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.  The target donors are among employees of PKNP Group, PKNP Group subsidiary companies, government departments and local residents around Bandar Meru Raya.

In addition to blood campaign donation, Welfare Bureau Kelab Warga PKNP Group also collaborated with other agencies such as Health Education Unit & Organ Donation Unit, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, National Population and Family Development Board and Pantai Puteri Hospital in organizing health screen programmes. The activities included such as health screening tests, pap smear, breast clinical examination, bone density examination, gynecological counseling and information on Organ Donation Programme.

The opening ceremony of the blood donation campaign was launched by Encik Rustam Apandi Bin Jamaludin, Acting Deputy Chief Executive (Business Operations) PKNP and President of Kelab Warga PKNP. Also present at the programme were Encik Nik Azman  Bin Nik Abdul Aziz, the Deputy President of Kelab Warga PKNP and Dr. Devin Kumar a/l Asoka Kumar, Medical Officer, Department of Transfusion Medicine, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, Ipoh.
