PKNP FC Took A Corruption-free Pledge

April 4, 2017 – Integrity, patriotism and sportsmanship are important cultural values to uphold in order to prevent corruption in sport. As such, Perak Football Association (PAFA), organized the corruption- free pledge initiative at Hotel Casuarina @ Meru recently.

The objective of the programme is to refrain every individual in leadership, management as well as players of PAFA and PKNP FC from involving in corruption. This pledge affects every individual to be more responsible in performing his or her tasks.

PAFA President, YB Dato' Seri Abdul Puhat Bin Nayan in his speech said, "This pledge will be able to make each individual more responsible in performing his or her tasks and refrain him or her from any act of corruption. It will give a good image and confidence to the public".

As for Dato' Azam Bin Baki, Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, "the Corruption-Free Pledge is important to enhance the integrity and honor of the officials and players in the team. It will bring excellence and achievement for the local football scene to a higher level", he said.

The guest of honor for the ceremony, YAB Dato' Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry Bin Abdul Kadir, the Perak Chief Minister in his speech also stressed that the State Government is committed to address the issue of corruption and abuse of power and give full support to the initiatives taken by the MACC. He said, "To make someone great, discipline is very important factor. It builds momentum and strength and embedded determination to excel and fight against corruption. Corruption is damaging the dignity and civilization."

A total of 380 members of the executive committee, management and players of PAFA and PKNP FC took the pledge in front of YAB Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry Bin Abd Kadir and YBhg. Dato’ Azam Bin Baki. The pledge was led by YB Dato’ Abdul Puhat Bin Nayan, President of PAFA. For PKNP FC a total of 120 officials, coaches and players of the two teams including, the Premier League and the President Team were also involved in the ceremony. 

Also present in the programme were YB Dato' Ghazali bin Haji Jalal, State Financial Officer, YB Dato' Shahrul Zaman Yahya Bin, Chairman of the Perak Committee on Youth, Sports and Human Resources. Meanwhile PKNP FC were represented by Tuan Sayed Shariffuddin Bin Sayed Shamshuddin, Deputy Executive Director (Corporate Services) and En. Rustam Apandi Bin Jamaludin, Deputy Chief Executive (Business Operations).
