PERAK EXPANDS THE ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE TO AID MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES

IPOH, 19th October 2021 – YAB Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani bin Mohamad visited 11 entrepreneurs in various business categories. He announced the Economic Stimulus Package (PRE) of RM46.5 million specifically to support the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in Perak, today.

 

First, the RM300 one-off aid assistance to 41,730 hawkers and small traders registered under the local authority with RM12.5 million allocation. Secondly, the Perak Entrepreneur Grants (GeRUP) amounting to RM1.85 million to 619 recipients.

 

The third aid is an allocation of RM30,000 to the Aidilfitri Bazar traders due to the event cancellation and a rental exemption to 10,264 stalls under the local authority, involving the cost of RM1.6 million.

 

Also, the moratorium facilities for 743 borrowers fromTabung Usahawan Yayasan Perak and, Yayasan Bina Upaya (YBU) microcredit loans.

 

The State government will support the farmers, livestock breeders, and fisherman comparatively in assistance, equipment and seed provision, human capital development program, and food hampers.

 

 Perak Menteri Besar also announced the Bantuan Perak Sejahtera Usahawan Kraftangan Perak to the 91 handicraft entrepreneurs who are yet not received any aid with the sum of RM182,000.

 

“This one-off aid of RM2,000 could hopefully help handicraft entrepreneurs to revive their businesses”.

 

“As a sign of support, I have requested all Perak state agencies and Government Link Companies (GLC) to use the products of Perak entrepreneurs as their official souvenirs.”

 

“From this visit, the business digitalization concept made a positive impact, especially in entrepreneurial marketing. Sales that had previously fallen have begun to rise. Moreover, some of the businesses have increased during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. I also gathered some insights into our efforts to execute the recovery plan to boost the economy of the people and state.”

 

“The State Government will continue to empower entrepreneurs to assist them in re-establishing businesses after Covid-19 through the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN), State Entrepreneur Secretariat (STeP), and Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR). He told reporters during a press conference in a visit at Miker Pizza in conjunction with Program MESRA Perak Entrepreneurs today.”

 

Also present, The Perak State Secretary, YB Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Bin Abdul Rahim, Chairman for Rural Development, Entrepreneur Development, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs, YB Dato’ Zainol Fadzi bin Hj. Paharudin, Mayor of Ipoh, YBhg. Dato’ Hj. Rumaizi bin Baharin, Deputy State Secretary (Development), Puan Halizah Binti Sipun Director of State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN), and the Director of State Entrepreneur Secretariat (STeP), Encik Mohamad Rozlan bin Mohamad Razali.
