IPOH, 9th February 2022 - Majuperak Holdings Berhad's (MHB) subsidiary, Majuperak United Solar JV Sdn Bhd (MUJV), implemented the installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels under the Net Energy Metering Scheme (NEM) 3.0 for Majlis Daerah Perak Tengah (MDPT). MDPT marks as a pioneer among Local Authorities in Perak for the use of solar in administrative offices.

The ceremony was officiated by the Chairman of the Perak Public Utilities, Infrastructure, Energy, and Water Committee, YB Dato' Haji Mohd Zolkafly bin Haji Harun, at the MDPT office. Other guests of honour also attended this program.

On the 16th of October 2020, MUJV and MDPT had collaborated with a pilot study of solar power generation in State Government buildings and completed it on the 15th of April 2021. MUJV fully funded this project.

Meanwhile, Yang Dipertua of MDPT, Encik Syukri bin Azaari said, MDPT has saved the average electricity bill 26% per month after six months of implementation of this solar installation.

Through this effort, MUJV hopes to create more cooperation with the Perak State Government departments or agencies in realizing YAB Menteri Besar Perak's aspirations in driving Perak as a leader in green technology-based initiatives.
