IPOH, 8th June 2022- Hydro Project 2 is one of the moving forward for PKNPk in realizing the State Government objectives for the Perak Green Technology Industry. Within 21 years, the Hydro 2 partnership’s target is to achieve 31% Renewable Energy generation in installed capacity by 2025 and 40% by 2035.

This Hydro 2 initiative will operate in 2027 and create new business opportunities that offer about 400 - 500 new job opportunities in related fields and expertise. The cooperation between PKNPk and Kangsar Hidro will involve six (6) identified rivers in Perak district locations. It is an effort to meet the quota capacity approved by SEDA, which is 59.77MW with an estimated project investment of RM400 million.

YAB Dato Seri Saarani Bin Mohamad, Menteri Besar of Perak Darul Ridzuan, witnessed this agreement. Also present was YBhg. Datuk Redza Rafiq Bin Abdul Razak, Chief Executive of PKNPk, YBhg. Dato Zulazlan bin Abu Hasan, Perak State Financial Officer, YB Dato Shahrul Zaman Bin Yahya, Chairman of the Perak State Corridor Investment and Development Industry Committee, YB Encik Mohd Akmal Bin Kamarudin, Chairman of the Health, Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee and Encik Syaril Bin Ahmad Tajuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Kangsar Hidro Sdn Bhd.
