IPOH, 15th March 2023 – BERNAMA, Malaysia's national news agency, has announced that it will be hosting the highly anticipated HAWANA 2023 event in Ipoh, Perak from May 27 to 29. HAWANA, which stands for Hari Wartawan Negara (National Journalists' Day), serves as a platform to recognize the tireless efforts of media practitioners in disseminating accurate information and news through print, electronic, and social media channels.

A coordination meeting for HAWANA 2023 was recently held at the Perak State Government Secretariat (SUK) office, which was presided over by YBhg Dato Nor Sham Bt Rahman, the Deputy Secretary General (Management) of SUK. Also in attendance were Pn Mastura binti Ahmad Mustafa, the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Communications and Digital, and Tuan Roslan bin Ariffin, the CEO of BERNAMA.

Following the meeting, representatives from the Ministry and BERNAMA visited the venues at Hotel Casuarina @ Meru and Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah (BSAS) to discuss preparations for the HAWANA 2023 celebration. PKNPk, Hotel Casuarina, and BERNAMA engaged in productive discussions, with the Director of Corporate Communications of PKNPk, Pn Intan Tantiyana Puteri Jaafar, and the Deputy General Manager of Hotel Casuarina Meru, Puan Sabrina Ahmad Tah.
