IPOH, 15th June 2023 – Ensuring a dynamic, viable, and highly regarded path for the state's development, the Perak State Government places great importance on the state's prosperity and the well-being of its people. Last year, on 15th June, the Perak Sejahtera 2030 (PS 2030) had launched to propel the state toward meeting the needs and expectations of its populace within one year.

YAB Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato Seri Saarani Bin Mohamad, delivered his speech on the update and progress made during the first year of the PS 2030 journey at the Ipoh Convention Centre (ICC). The primary aim was to share the goals and achievements of the public by providing them with firsthand experience of the State Government's vision.

Dato Saarani also emphasizes the achievements of the PKNPk Group, particularly the Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC) and Silver Valley Technology Park (SVTP) projects. The development of a state-of-the-art mineral processing factory facility at SVTP is a collaboration between PKNPk and Syarikat Jinjing Silicon Technology Sdn Bhd. The estimated expectation is one million tonnes of white silica sand and 100,000 tonnes of high-purity quartz sand to be processed annually. The build-to-fit and lease (BTSL) concept accounted for RM40 million in building costs for the factory, with the initial investment potentially reaching RM100 million.

The Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC) at Lumut Port will become a significant growth engine for Perak and the Northern Corridor Economic Region, with private participation, special economic zone incentives, and industry-academic cooperation. Over the next 25 years, it's projected to create investment opportunities worth up to RM72 billion and generate 50,000 new jobs.

Dato' Seri Saarani expressed his belief that a well-planned development and execution strategy will lead to the successful realization of PS 2030. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and ongoing support from various stakeholders in achieving prosperity for the people and the state.
