IPOH, 2nd FEBRUARY 2024 – A syndicated session involving Perak State technical agencies was convened to discuss the development planning of the Hydro Floating Solar Hybrid Project, in collaboration with PKNPk and TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (TNB GENCO), designated as No. 01/2024.

Tuan Syed Omar Albar Syed Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive (Planning & Development) of PKNPk, along with representatives from TNB Genco, chaired this session for the first time. The meeting took place at the Perak Techno Trade Center (PTTC).

The purpose of the session was to present initial details regarding the Hybrid Hydro Floating Solar (HHFS) project, slated for implementation within the catchment area of the Station Dam - Sungai Perak Hydroelectric Power Station (SSJ). Participants engaged in collaborative discussions to identify potential challenges and implications associated with the project.

Aligned with the Development Agenda of the Prosperous Silver Plan 2030 and Sustainable Silver Plan 2030, this initiative fosters the growth of the green technology sector. Furthermore, it is a key component of the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) Phase 1, focusing on the development of HHFS with a total potential capacity of 2,500 MW within hydro dams.
