MEETING ON THE RAW WATER SUPPLY PROJECT WITH THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER OF ENERGY TRANSITION & WATER TRANSFORMATION

KUALA LUMPUR, 23rd JULY 2025 – The Chief Executive of Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak (PKNPk), YBhg. Datuk Redza Rafiq bin Abdul Razak, attended a meeting at the Parliament building to discuss on the State Government of Perak’s position of the Raw Water Conveyance Project from the Perak River to Bukit Merah Reservoir. This strategic project is aimed at supplying water to Northern Perak and providing treated water for sale to the state of Penang.

 

The meeting was chaired by YAB Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Yusof, who also serves as Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), at the Parliament Members’ and Administration Meeting Room. The session provided a platform for the state government and key stakeholders to review project route assessments, share insights, and contribute to finalising joint decisions on the initiative.

 

The outcomes of the discussions will serve as critical input for the Cabinet Memorandum (MJM) to be prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and PETRA, ensuring the project’s implementation maximises benefits for the community.

 

Also in attendance were the Menteri Besar of Perak, YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, and the Chief Secretary of PETRA, Dato’ Hj Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli.
