SARAWAK, 18th NOVEMBER 2025 - The GEMAPUTERA Empowerment Workshop was held on 18 November 2025 at ParkCity Everly Hotel, Bintulu. The session commenced with welcoming remarks by YBhg. Datu Haji Abdul Hadi bin Datuk Haji Abdul Kadir, General Manager of SEDC and President of GEMAPUTERA, and was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Economy Malaysia, YB Dato’ Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib.

This workshop marks the first of a planned four-part series. The primary focus areas of this initial session included:

i. The role of GEMAPUTERA members in contributing to national economic growth.

ii. Leveraging resources, capabilities, and strengths across GEMAPUTERA members.

iii. Challenges faced by GEMAPUTERA members.

iv. Seeking a mandate from the Ministry of Economy for State Development Corporations to reinforce their roles as strategic partners in investment facilitation-including tax incentives and other relevant initiatives.

v. Highlighting the commitment of State Development Corporations in supporting economic growth at the state level.

The workshop was attended by representatives from each State Economic Development Corporation (PKEN) and affiliate members, providing detailed insights relating to state-specific perspectives and matters.

Appreciation is extended to the Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP) as the secretariat for ensuring the smooth organisation of the workshop.
