PERAK SEJAHTERA 2030 SECOND YEAR PROGRESS REPORT PRESENTATION CEREMONY

MANJUNG, 10th JUNE 2024 – The well-being of the people and the prosperity of the state are important agendas of the State Government to ensure dynamic, realistic, and achievable state development. 2024 marks the second year of Perak Sejahtera 2030 (PS 2030), which was launched on 15 June 2022. The State Government continues to ensure that the planning and strategy meet the needs and aspirations of the people.

 

The YAB Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato' Seri Saarani Bin Mohamad, took the stage at Dewan Merdeka Seri Manjung to share the significant achievements of the second year of PS 2030. His leadership has been instrumental in driving the three (3) additional agendas to fortify the Perak Sejahtera 2030 namely Social Development, Nature and biodiversity Sustainability, and Local Authority Empowerment.

 

The YAB Menteri Besar also detailed the achievements of the PKNPk Group through the Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC) project in Manjung District. This project, set to be a growth engine for Perak and the Northern Corridor Economic Region, is projected to attract private investment worth RM72 billion over a 25-year development period. The Menteri Besar emphasized the need to fill 51,000 job opportunities for the LuMIC project, particularly for young people majoring in TVET throughout Perak. He also highlighted the launch of the LuMIC Trainee Program by PKNPk, further demonstrating the project's potential impact.

 

Apart from LuMIC, YAB Menteri Besar also shared about another PKNPk Group project known as Silver Valley Technology Park (SVTP) in Kanthan, Chemor. This project has already received the first investment amounting to RM100 million ringgit. The SVTP targets a total investment of RM14 billion with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM1.03 billion, and more than 13,000 job opportunities for the locals will be generated from this project.

 

YAB Menteri Besar hopes to see the State of Perak continue to become a developed state and that the children of Perak will no longer have to go out of Perak to find a livelihood. The Second Year PS 2030 Progress Report Book and PS 2030 Dashboard were also launched at the ceremony.
