KNOWLEDGE SHARING PROGRAMME ON GENERATIVE AI DEVELOPMENT AND DATA SECURITY BY MICROLAB TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD

KUALA KANGSAR, 25th SEPTEMBER 2024 – On 25 September 2024, Microlab Technology Sdn. Bhd. (MTSB) held a Knowledge Sharing Session on "Generative AI Development & Data Security (Case Study of Data Leaks in Malaysia)" at Casuarina@Kuala Kangsar. The session took place from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

 

The event began with a welcoming speech by the Chief Executive Officer of Perak Industrial Resources Sdn. Bhd. (PIRSB), Mr. Abdul Rahim bin Bohari@Bahari. He also shared MTSB's role and responsibilities in supporting the development of digital technology in the state of Perak, particularly in the government sector and higher education institutions.

 

The keynote speaker, Ts. Adil Hidayat, known as the "Pendakwah Teknologi" made the session more interactive and engaging. He presented the latest developments in Generative AI, including its applications and impacts across various industries, and a case study on data leaks from 2020 to 2024, covering causes, effects, and preventive measures to enhance data security.

 

The session also introduced the ASUS ExpertBook P5, heralding a revolution in AI PCs from Asus Business Malaysia. This device is expected to boost productivity across various sectors using Microsoft AI Copilot applications.

 

ESET Malaysia also presented on "The Role of AI in Enhancing Cybersecurity and The Potential Dangers It Poses," discussing how ESET’s AI-driven technology can control intrusion risks and prevent cyberattacks.

 

Nearly 50 representatives from the Information Technology Division of 29 agencies under the Perak State Secretary's Office (SUK), Local Authorities (PBT), Higher Education Institutions, and Government-Linked Agencies (GLC) in Perak attended the session.

 

MTSB has been providing rental computer services (ASUS) and antivirus renewal (ESET) at the Perak SUK office for 3 years.
