ENGAGEMENT SESSION OF 13th MALAYSIA PLAN MADANI MENDENGAR WITH RAFIZI RAMLI

25 Nov 2024

IPOH, 25th NOVEMBER 2024 – The Ministry of Economy of Malaysia held a series of Madani Mendengar roadshows at the Casuarina@Meru Hotel. The primary purpose of this session was to gather feedback for the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13) and to explore Malaysia’s potential to be more competitive and resilient on the global stage.

In his statement, YB Rafizi Ramli mentioned that Perak has excellent potential to contribute to the nation’s economy. High-impact projects through the development planned by the Perak State Government are expected to bring in industrial clusters. Some of these projects include the Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC), Perak Halal Industrial Park (Perak HIP), Silver Valley Technology Park (SVTP), Kerian Integrated Green Industrial Park (KIGIP), and the High-Tech Automotive Valley (AHTV).

During the Engagement Session with Heads of Federal and State Agency Departments, the YB Minister expressed his appreciation to the Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak (PKNPk) for being the only Perbadanan Kemajuan Ekonomi Negeri (PKEN) that agreed to take a loan as a source of financing, instead of requesting allocations from the Federal Government.

According to the YB Minister, this is an example of good governance and a clear business model. PKNPk's decision reflects courage in pursuing projects without relying on federal government allocations. This approach demonstrates that PKNPk can leverage its own financial resources and manage risks wisely in the state’s economic development, without burdening the federal government.
